1st quarter of 2020 in TIM SA: over PLN 215 million turnover, customers prefer to shop safe

Early estimates suggest that for the first time in the history of TIM SA net revenues from the sales of goods and services directly related to the sale of goods have significantly exceeded the level of PLN 200 million in the first quarter of the year. In the first three months of 2020 they amounted to almost PLN 215.8 million, i.e. by 12.9% more than in the corresponding period of 2019. 72% of this amount (PLN 155.3 million, +13.3 y/y) was generated by online sales.

The estimated turnover for March 2020 amounted to almost PLN 78.6 million, by 12.7% more than in March 2019. The e-commerce channel generated PLN 52.8 million, i.e. +9.9% y/y).

– We have experienced the best first quarter in history with nearly a record-high monthly dynamics in February and the above average, if you look at the entire year 2019, increase in March. The data for that month show that despite the worsening epidemic situation in the last two weeks the TIM sales machine has not slowed down – comments Krzysztof Folta, the President of the Management Board of TIM SA. – Our hybrid business model has been proving very well these days. Customers choose online shopping at TIM.pl instead of visiting a traditional warehouse. They make use of the widest range of electrotechnical products in Poland available within 24 hours but they also gain something much more important now – the sense of security with the delivery directly to the place they are staying – adds Krzysztof Folta.

Orders placed by TIM SA customers are processed and delivered on a regular basis. It is worth noting that all companies forming the TIM Capital Group have maintained their business continuity while over 95% employees from business departments and back office have been working from home. Operational staff employed in the 3LP SA logistics center perform their duties in accordance with the new work organization in compliance with the rigorous security rules and using personal protective equipment. – Maintaining work continuity and achieving the presented record-high sales results is a huge credit to all TIM and 3LP employees. I am very much grateful to them for that. I would also like to thank our customers for the trust and the opportunity to meet their business needs in such difficult circumstances – says Krzysztof Folta.
