Double-digit increase in sales revenues and a record number of customers at the opening of the year at TIM SA
Preliminary estimates show that the revenue of TIM SA from net sales of goods and services directly related to the sales of goods amounted to more than PLN 117 million in January 2023, an increase by 12,2% compared to the corresponding period in 2022.
Estimated on-line sales realised by customers alone totalled more than PLN 82.3 million in January 2023, i.e. an increase by 8.3% compared to the previous year.
– The beginning of the new year gives reasons for cautious optimism. It was the highest opening of the year in history, although sales in January of the previous year amounted to over PLN 104 million, which constituted a high base for the current year. January 2023 was also the first month since May 2022, with a double-digit increase in sales revenue, says Krzysztof Folta, President of the Management Board of TIM SA. – What is more, sales per business day amounted to almost PLN 5.6 million in January 2023. And this was in a situation where the first week of the month was characterised by a lower business activity after the Christmas – New Year period and additionally ended with a long weekend. Taking into account the more difficult from the macroeconomic point of view and seasonally more difficult start of the year, we are very pleased that we are gaining more and more trust and building good purchasing experience among the increasing number of customers every month. In January 2023, we served more than 21 thousand customers. This number has not yet emerged in a single month throughout our history to date, adds Krzysztof Folta.
In the last full week of January (23-29 January 2023), preceding the 31st Finale of the Great Orchestra of Christmas Aid (WOŚP), sales at TIM had an additional, aiding dimension. Just like a year ago, the Company decided to transfer PLN 1 from each order placed at that period at TIM.pl for WOŚP – in this way we raised PLN 13,760, which was 14.6% more than one year before. Adding payments to the virtual money box from our customers and employees, the account of the Orchestra was credited with the amount PLN 19,620 thanks to TIM. January 2023 is also the time for the first summary of the previous year.
