May 2017 in TIM SA twice as good as in the construction industry

The TIM SA’s revenues from sales in May 2017 amounted to PLN 52.44 million, i.e. 16% more than in the previous year, as follows from preliminary estimates. In May 2017, the construction and assembly production in Poland was 8.4% higher than in the corresponding period of 2016.

The estimated turnover from the e-commerce channel in May 2017 reached PLN 37.29 million, which means 13.3% increase compared to May 2016. The sales revenues generated by TIM SA for the first five months of 2017 amounted to almost PLN 25 billion (PLN 246.1 million, i.e. 5.6% more than in the period from January to May 2016).

However, it follows from the preliminary data published on June 20, 2017 by the Central Statistics Office that the construction and assembly production (in constant prices), including investment-related and repair works, completed in the country by construction companies hiring more than 9 workers, in May 2017 was 8.4% higher than the year before (in relation to the 13.7% decrease in May last year) and 16.7% higher compared to April this year. Without the impact of seasonal factors, the construction and assembly production was about 6.2% higher than in May last year and 3.2% lower compared to April this year.

“After weak April, May has brought a big improvement in the form of double-digit sales dynamics. It happened in spite of the long weekend in May and the resulting lower than usual number of working days. If you look at the dynamics of the construction and assembly production, which in May were lower by about a half than that achieved by TIM, you can see that the unique hybrid model of TIM works efficiently, regardless of the situation in the industry that a few years ago we were heavily dependent on,” notes Krzysztof Folta, the President of the Management Board of TIM SA.
